14th National Conference

Inauguration of the 14th National RESC conference happened this morning at the Centre for Education Leadership Development (Meepe) of the National Institute of Education with the prestigious presence of professor Narada Warnasuriya, former Vice Chancellor and the senior professor in pediatrics of the University of Sri Jayawardenapura.
Theme of this year's conference is "Today's Mission: Tomorrow's reality".
Three eminent personalities; Dr.(Mrs.Chandra Amarasekara, Miss. P.Nagasundaram, and Mrs.K.L.Piyasoma were felicitated for their life long commitment for the upliftment of the English language Education in Sri Lanka.
Professor W.M.Abeyrathna Bandara, Director General of the NIE, Mr.Gemunu Iddamalgoda, Assistant Director General of NIE, Mr.I.M.K.B.Ilangasinghe, Assistant Director General of NIE, Mrs.Sarojinee Dias, Director Planning of the NIE and Mr.Sanath Jayalath, Assistand Director of Education form the Ministry of Education graced the inauguration of the National RESC conference this year.

Principle sponsors of the national RESC conference this year are German Technical Cooperation (GIZ), and  Education for Knowledge Society Project of the Ministry of Education (ADB/EKSP). Cosponsors are: State Fertilizer Corporation, Singer Sri lanka, and S.K.Munasinghe Motors.



The American Center, Asia Foundation, British Council and Room to Read have extended their enormous support with resource materials and resource persons.
Inauguration of the 14th National RESC Conference is scheduled to start in a few minutes at the Meepe Campus o the National Institute of Education. Delegates representing 30 RESCs are going to be there for two days sharing their thoughts, experience and professional wisdom.
